    Responsibilities

    A Day In The Life Typically Includes

     

    The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) oversees Engineering, Manufacturing, and process changes through the coordination of resources from each engineering function (Product, Manufacturing, and Quality). The individual coordinates component product launches through the development of timelines and PPAPs. (S)He acts as a customer contact, compiles customer requirements, and cooperates with Plant Manufacturing Engineers to develop and complete ECRs, and MCRs.

     

    The individual reports to the Advanced Quality Manager. (S)He is the primary coordinator of all activity related to component product and process changes. The complexity of the process involves interaction with sales, materials, purchasing, engineering, customers, and suppliers.

     

    The individual must have adequate organization skills to be able to track and manage multiple engineering and manufacturing change requests (ECR's & MCR's). The AQP Manager must have basic knowledge of SRG Global product and processes as well as an understanding of customer requirements. Due to the nature of the position and an inherent lack of direct authority, the individual must possess strong communication and inter-personal skills.

     

    The position keeps team members informed of associated changes, timing schedules, and customer requirements. This involves coordinating, training, overseeing, and reviewing the development of documentation of customer requirements from appropriate personnel. (S)He implements any necessary changes and provides these documented requirements to Manufacturing Engineering.

     

    • Manage Advanced Quality Planning process in support of SRG Gate Process.
    • Support Customers in completion of OEM PPAP and Launch requirements.
    • Support CFT teams to meet Full PPAP to meet customer and SRG Global timing targets.
    • Support Quote and Tech Review processes with Customer requirements.
    • Facilitate read across/lessons learned for APQP documentation (PFMEA/Control plan).
    • Proactive identification of changing customer standards and incorporation into SRG Global systems.
    • Support audits for Launch Readiness- IPSO, PFMEA/Control Plan

    What You Will Need

    • A BS and/or a functional knowledge of basic engineering techniques, processes, and concepts preferred.
    • This position requires 5+ years of related experience.
    • Specific education and training in Quality disciplines is required, including (minimum): ISO/TS16949, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
    • Candidates must demonstrate solid skills in communication, interpersonal relations, and ability to inspire individuals to improve performance
    • Advanced Quality Planning including familiarity with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan standard, FMEA’s, PPAPs, Dimensional layouts, gage/fixture design, and Performance/Material testing. 
    • Statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodology
    • Manufacturing Quality system experience and Customer communication activities
    • Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt.
    • Program launch experience
