    Guardian Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join the Kingsburg team. This person will be responsible for all purchasing related activities in the plant.



    • Select the best (quality) and most cost-effective suppliers.  Increase spend to our affiliate suppliers and reduce the number of suppliers. Find and negotiate any cost savings or longer payment terms as possible to help Kingsburg profitability.  Find lowest prices for purchases.
    • Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, SCAR’s (returns) and concerns.  Review and sign all contracts with the aid of our legal department.
    • Ensure proper supplier compliance and safety. In Plant Work Agreements COI’s (Certificate of Insurance) and Risk Assessments.
    • Master database maintenance of various programs including Procurement and SharePoint, ensuring data accuracy.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles such as debits and credits, reconciling accounts and statements.
    • Communicate with various plant and corporate personnel and take direction from them regarding reporting, national agreements and standardization.  Follow Guardian Central guidelines.
    • Responsible for on-site vendors personnel at the plant, training and ensuring they are following all visitor, vendor and contractor training
    • Responsible for tracking sales use tax for self-assessment for the plant.
    • High volume AP functions required to assist GBS.
    • Ad-hoc reporting.  Must know how to use excel cube reporting, pivot tables.
    • Assist with projects as needed.
    • Responsible for plant Travel & Entertainment review and Guard Card ordering and cancelation, run reports from Concur.


    • College degree preferred but not required
    • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a related position.
    • Manufacturing experience highly desired.
    • Critical thinking skills, especially in analyzing and interpreting data
    • Ability to interact with suppliers, procurement users and management utilizing Procurement (purchasing system)
    • Excellent communication skills and abilities including effectively communicating ideas, concepts and plans across multiple levels.
    • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word

    Highly analytical and quantitative, with strong attention to detail
