    Responsibilities

    The Production Manager at Guardian VacuumIG is a business manager that identifies strategic opportunities for improvements within our process and facilities. In this role, you will develop and improve manufacturing processes and best practices, and be accountable for achieving cost, schedule and productivity metrics by directing the work of the organizations manufacturing operations. The position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness via lean manufacturing tactics with a focus on production efficiency. Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. It is an expectation of the Production Manager to develop and mentor production supervisors and staff. The Production Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing process to assure that safety, quality, culture and productivity are maximized.
    • Ensure timely and effective communication of key issues to all staff.
    • Drive the organization to focus on continuous improvement 
    • Planning, directing, and coordinating the manufacturing of products in compliance with company goals and objectives.
    • Analyzing delivery and inventory issues and providing solutions.
    • Establishing and controlling conditions of production including quality and maintenance in order to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
    • Organizing and directing workflow for satisfying production requirement in a cost-efficient manner.
    • Developing and motivating the cost-effective alternatives and improvements to production process.
    • Supervising entire 1-shift operation and growing to 3-shifts over an 18-month period.
    • Maximizing the efficiency of production lines and ensuring effective employment utilization.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or manufacturing processes preferred
    • Commitment to safety, quality and production in support of company vision
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in Manufacturing
    • Strong background and work experience in lean manufacturing
    • Understanding of ISO/TS Quality Standards
    • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards, integrity and compliance with all laws and regulations.
