    Responsibilities

    The Shift Supervisors primary focus will be to drive operational excellence efforts of manufactured VIG products, consistent with established standards and Guardian's operational priorities. The supervisor will achieve this operational excellence while making employee safety and 100% compliance their top priority.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    Providing leadership and direction to employees:

    • Driving plant safety to zero incidents yearly.
    • Making sure the plant is 100% compliant, 100% of the time.
    • Fosters company culture by encouraging and mentoring integrity, collaboration, innovation, decision making and team effectiveness.
    • Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and evaluating employees.
    • Developing personal growth plans and opportunities, with clear and measurable goals and objectives.
    • Resolving personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.

    Coaching and mentoring employees to meet/exceed safety, quality and production goals.

    • Developing team members for both individual and organizational performance.
    • Creating and revising systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control and personnel requirements; implementing change.
    • Maintains quality processes/products by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
    • Maintaining safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of P.P.E., control points, equipment, resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Executes production plans, including scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

     

    Continuously improve plant performance through process improvements and the use of lean methodologies, value stream mapping/optimization, six Sigma, etc.

     

    • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
    • Identifies, plans, executes and monitors best practices.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 8 years of supervisory experience.
    • Detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively and communicate across multiple levels and departments.
    • Must possess solid computer skills.

    Preferred Skills

    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
    • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Knowledge preferred.
