    Operations Manager

     

     

    The Operations Manager will manage all activities related to operations and development of the facility’s products. The Operations Manager will report to the Plant Manager.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Develop and maintain the manufacturing operations’ business plan to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, and production costs.
    • Assist with maintaining established guidelines for Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Provide input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
    • Establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of parts.
    • Develop a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
    • Ensure that all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments of the facility are met.
    • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the facility and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
    • Review production and operating reports with the Plant Manager and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
    • Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of the facility’s operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
    • Determine the responsibilities of employees, train employees, and ensure all employees are aware of and comply with the facility’s policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Assist the plant in developing site specific safety processes for all corporate wide

    Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Working knowledge of and ability of instituting Lean Manufacturing principles.      
    • Candidates should possess the ability to rely on the use of experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Leadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management

     

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop and sit.
    • Must lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
    • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures & perform work indoors/outdoors as needed.
