    For our location in Goole, we are looking for a Float Shift Supervisor.

     

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Production Shift Manager you will join the existing Float Team in order to take responsibility for a shift team operating the Float Glass process. The Float operation is a highly automated environment that includes; batching of raw materials, melting, refining, forming, annealing, cutting, packing and quality assurance. You will be capable of managing a team, striving for operational and process excellence, whilst driving forward our company culture that has health and safety at its core.

    The working pattern for this role is 12-hour shifts, 4 on/4 off cycle (DDNN RRRR). Occasional day shift work will be required for ad-hoc meetings or projects.

    Principle Accountabilities

    • Your role will focus on supporting the business in the pursuit of Health, Safety and Environmental excellence through the effective management of yourself and your team.
    • You will be responsible for the quality of the product produced and for creating value through process improvement with a clear focus on safety, quality and production.
    • You will be effective in communicating within the team and across other areas of the business.
    • You will be responsible for operating in a cost-effective manner in order to utilise the fewest resources possible.

     

    Qualifications:

    • You will be educated to degree level, preferably in a technical discipline, or have established experience in a demanding manufacturing environment.
    • You will be able to effectively manage and lead a team, developing their knowledge and capability, whilst being willing to provide hands-on support, as required.
    • You will have creative and effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to use them in a fast-paced environment.
    • You will have excellent communication skills and experience of building strong relationships with a diverse range of people, including internal customers.
    • Commercial awareness is desirable for this role
