    A Day In The Life Typically Includes

    Guardian Industries is currently seeking a Production Manager to join our Richburg, South Carolina team. The Production Manager is an integral part of the plant leadership team. This position will report to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading the operations team in maximizing long-term value creation; applying our Market-Based Management® (MBM®) culture to achieve excellence in Safety, Compliance, Quality, Customer Service, Performance Metrics, and People Development. The successful candidate will work closely with the organization’s Safety, Environmental, Production, Maintenance, Human Resources, Finance, and Site Leadership Team members to achieve and maintain compliance while simultaneously striving for operations excellence.

    • Leadership of a high-functioning, 24/7/365-day large scale manufacturing operation including people, process, equipment and administration.
    • Manage operations ensuring production goals are met or exceeded with reliable operations, while promoting safety and environmental compliance
    • Build strong customer relations, and create and foster a positive work environment through enthusiasm and team-work.
    • Drive continuous improvement through innovating and transformation of the business.
    • Promote an environment of safety excellence with a mindset focused on the ability to achieve zero injuries & incidents in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
    • Advance our MBM Culture: create a company culture deliberately, and “by design – not default”.
    • Recruit, challenge and develop the future leaders of the plant and company.
    • Responsible for people management systems, including employee performance development, recognition, compatibility, and employee progression / readiness.
    • Coach and mentor leaders 


    What You Will Need


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering, Business or a closely related discipline.
    • 5+ years of Management in a large manufacturing plant environment.
    • Effective change agent and relationship development track record in a cross-functional organization
    • Several years of experience in a union-free manufacturing plant environment.
    • Proven track-record of mentoring and developing future leaders.

    • Advanced communication skills – (written, one-on-one, and presentations).
    • Solid understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement & other operational excellence principles and techniques.
    • Interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor people.
    • Ability to work through others to understand and trouble-shoot technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
