    Responsibilities

     

    Reporting to the Float Operations Manager, the role sits within the Float Production team. With an opportunity to create value and deliver results from day one, the main focus of the role will be the continued development and implementation of the department’s continuous improvement program.

    • Facilitate the introduction of continuous improvement methodologies to the department, identifying and removing barriers to change
    • Working with the Float production teams to analyse and improve current processes and procedures through the application of continuous improvement methodologies
    • Developing and maintaining measures of the success of changes implemented
    • Engage the Float workforce at all levels to gain commitment and understanding of the business changes
    • Support the training and development of the Float teams to enable and encourage a culture of continuous improvement
    • Encourage data driven problem selection and resolution activities, including thorough root cause analysis
    • Implementing standardised working methods to reduce process variability and ensure high quality process control
    • Supporting the float team in delivering the expected customer service levels, in particular the prompt and satisfactory resolution of customer quality complaints
    • Supporting operations in the identification and mitigation of risks to quality using tools such as FMEA
    • Supporting the training and development of employees to enable and encourage a culture of quality, and providing guidance and assistance on quality matters
    • Responsible for the Float QC lab operation, procedures and equipment

     

    Qualifications:

     

    • A degree in a science, technology or engineering subject (or equivalent)
    • Experience of continuous improvement programs in a production/manufacturing environment
    • Good knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
    • It is desirable to have knowledge of quality improvement techniques
    • Highly motivated and self driven, passionate about delivering exceptional results
    • Ability to prioritise and work effectively
    • Ability to drive and effectively deliver change, creating sustainable results
    • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship building skills at all organisational levels
    • Excellent coaching and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, to varied audiences
    • Confident in the use of IT packages (particularly Excel)
