We are presently recruiting for Plant Administrative Assistant, who will thrive in our culture. This position will be located at our Corsicana, Texas Float Glass facility just South of Dallas, Texas.

    Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Manager position is responsible for assume the management role working in a fast pace, high pressure, 24/7/365 manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing efficient work methods and collaborating with employees to increase productivity while maintaining our strong safety record and support achievement of site’s goals and objectives.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILTIES

    Team – Management & Leadership

    • Interact closely with production, operations, plant and functional leaders to ensure customer requirements are being met.
    • Guarantee the efficiency of the processes for the site (standards implementation & improvement).
    • Coordinate all internal flows’ improvement actions (lead time reduction).
    • Provide the necessary leadership and direction to integrate continuous improvement in all areas of plant.
    • Knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations including product and employee safety, and OSHA standards.
    • Proven track record of cost control and continuous improvement.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the safety of all employees and visitors to the facility.
    • Lead, track and improve performance on key location goals and objectives.
    • Develop crew members for improving individual and organization performance.
    • Lead performance management and corrective action processes for assigned crew.

    • Assist in evaluate and select the appropriate talent and level of talent to advance our desired culture and profitably staff functions at the plant.
    • Ensure employees connect with how they drive value for the company; identify talent gaps that are obstacles to superior results and coach employees.
    • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management® (MBM®).
    • Identify Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.
    • Resolve customer complaints/issues (internal and external); using them as an opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve the root cause.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the plant maintenance function and process, aligning with the Guardian vision.

    • Demonstrated oral & written communication proficiency.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to heat, may be required to work in and out doors in demanding conditions, working around moving mechanical parts and vibration, may be required to work heights with proper PPE.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in & out doors (rounds, repairs and service utilities and support systems), in hot areas (around the hot end/furnace applications) and is an active role that requires periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds in a safe manner.

    Experience & Education

     

    >  4 Year Bachelor Degree in a related discipline or related field

    >  3-5 years of significant supervisory experience at increasing levels preferably in a manufacturing environment.
