    Responsibilities

    Specific Skills and Job Duties:

    This is a key position at Guardian Industry's Science and Technology Center. The R&D Lab Technicial will take a lead role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our  ILS (In-Line Sputtering) pilot sputter deposition tool. This is a technical support position for Guardian's innovatin in physical vapor deposition and vacuuum sputtering. This is a key function in the overall success of Guardian's advanced development and innovation of optical thin coatings for our glass technologies. The R&D Lab technician will be chartered with taking a key lead technician role in assisting our scientific team in creating prototype thin films and characterizing their physical, optical, and mechanical performance. The R&D technician will maintain  existing equipment and laboratory facilities, as well as improving  departmental capability through the procurement, installation and operation of new equipment. Working with internal customers and scientists to carry out organizational research goals.

    Inidvidual would enable exsiting service that provides initial thin films prototyping to organization. Pilot facilities critical for fast project progress or quick kills.

     

    Specific Requirements:

    Experience with thin film deposition and characterization desired. Experience with the installation and servicing vacuum hardware desired. Familiar with windows based software (office) required.
