    The Process Engineer’s primary focus will be to drive operations excellence efforts of manufacturing insulating glass (IG) units, consistent with established standards and Guardian's operational priorities.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Utilize structured approach to continuous improvement to increase process yields, reduce equipment down time and resolve manufacturing issues in an expedient manner.
    • Document changes to the IG line and product for process improvements, new product launch and alternate materials implemented on VIG line. Create and maintain standard work instructions for VIG processes.
    • Determine equipment design requirements, prepare specifications and drawings, and coordinate installation and maintenance systems for new equipment installed.
    • Reinforce Guardian’s company culture in daily interactions and decision making.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum of ten years of experience working automated assembly equipment & processes.
    • Knowledge of problem solving disciplines, including 8D, DMAIC, Design of Experiments, etc
    • Knowledge process control tools, including Control plans and PFMEA.
    • Detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively and communicate across multiple levels and departments.

    Preferred Skills

    • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
    • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Knowledge preferred.
    • DMAIC and Design of Experiments Knowledge preferred.
    • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistics.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
