    Responsibilities

    Guardian is looking to add an America’s HEAT Manager/Engineer. This position is responsible for:

    • Development of Guardian ‘s Regional Hot End Capability.
    • Providing significant input toward Furnace, Tin Bath & Lehr Operations and Repairs.
    • Measurable increases in the float lines productivity, improved regional asset reliability, and people development focusing across the America’s with focus being in Brazil.

    Responsibilities & Expectations

    • Lead planning for Furnace & Tin bath rebuilds and repairs.
    • Perform Furnace & Tin bath audits and provide recommendations for maximizing performance.
    • Provide support to plants on melting, forming, annealing, and cutting of glass.
    • Drive Continuous Improvement.
    • Identify and facilitate creation of Best Practices for maintenance and operations of float assets.
    • Facilitate regional Knowledge Sharing.
    • Troubleshoot float quality problems.
    • Lead a team of individuals to drive performance in the region.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • 3 to 20 years of experience in float glass manufacturing, engineering, with experience in rebuilds, repairs, transitions.
    • Experience leading teams.
    • Experience with problem solving tools, quality tools, Six Sigma & LEAN.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office & Mini tab.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Fluency in English & Portuguese.
    • Ability to travel extensively.
    • Base location Tatui or Porto Real Brazil.
