    We are currently looking for a Project Director and Capability Lead (Global Engineering), based in Luxembourg. 

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership in achieving Guardian’s vision
    • Ensure proactive critical risk identification and mitigation is performed consistently through all project phases
    • Ensure employees understand, prioritize, and mitigate safety, environmental, and compliance risk, and are considering these in the planning and execution phases of the projects
    • Ensure that effective audit and self-assessment procedures are in place and active
    • Routinely visit sites with ongoing projects (through all phases) to personally understand and assess any gap between project needs and actual state: resources, project discipline project and start-up performance
    • Efficiently support the development of alternatives and the preparation of deliverables per Front End Loading (FEL) phase
    • Coach project team to ensure efficient delivery of project in cost, schedule, and quality
    • Support and follow the C-PEP for capital projects in line with the needs of the business
    • Support the development and application of a rigorous project planning, control, and Risk Management methodology
    • Prioritize resources across a portfolio of projects by maximizing comparative advantage
    • Assure project objectives are clearly defined and project milestones are thoughtfully developed
    • Lead and develop a team of engineering specialists
    • Develop and maintain design parameters and specifications
    • Understand and be accountable for managing Quality of Engineering, Design, and Construction on all Capital Projects
    • Leverage direct reports to own projects, related performance management, and lead to successful outcomes in matching or exceeding agreed upon project objectives
    • Ensure project performance metrics are in place, focus on waste elimination is a priority, and creation of a competitive advantage is the focus of all members of the capability.
    • Utilize performance metrics to drive positive results with focus towards delivering projects matching or exceeding agreed upon project objectives.
    • Create and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors of strategic importance to successful project implementation
    • Provide efficient and technically sound engineering support to capital projects by applying knowledge sharing and an open feedback environment

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • MBA or Masters in Engineering/Project Management
    • Minimum of 15 years of Project Engineering and Project Management experience
    • Proven experience managing and leading a cross functional team
    • Strong financial acumen with analytical and economic thinking skills
