    The EH&S Manager leads Guardian Engineered Glass Products (EGP) in the pursuit of 10,000 % compliance with all relevant EH&S regulations.   This position, with support from EH&S global and regional teams, provides the technical knowledge and expertise needed by all site personnel to maintain and safe and productive work place.

    Responsibilities & Expectations

    • Lead plant leadership on incident investigations to ensure proper root-cause analysis, follow-up, and incident notification (knowledge –sharing)
    • Drive the follow-up and closure of EH&S action plans
    • Prepare various EH&S reports, including collection and review of metrics on a monthly or as-needed basis
    • Maintain compliance with existing and emerging EH&S regulations
    • Actively promote the Guiding Principles and MBM culture with a primary focus on 10,000% compliance, incident prevention, risk management, open communication and knowledge sharing
    • Promote knowledge sharing and implementation of operational best practices
    • Provide leadership of the plant’s various Environmental Health and Safety initiatives such that the plants’ performance maintains and builds upon the Company’s reputation as a proactive best-in-class corporate citizen
    • Assure that the plant continuously improves performance in Environmental Health and Safety innovation while maintaining compliance with all Local, State, and Federal Environmental and Safety regulations.
    • Understand any/all potential safety and environmental hazards used/present on site, take steps to reduce the use and/or mitigate any potential safety and environmental health hazards.
    • Ensure Safety and Environmental Health certifications, accreditations, and compliance efforts are developed and continuously improved. (Could include ISO, OSHA/MIOSHA, Voluntary Protection Programs, etc...).

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • 5-10 years of experience within the Environmental Health and Safety function, performing duties related to this position required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Safety & Health, EH&S Management, or a related field required.
    • Leadership/managerial experience in the Environmental Health and Safety function is preferred.

    Preferred Skills

    • Demonstrated proficiency with office automation/communication software and tools (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Possess highly effective written and verbal communications skills that can used with people of various backgrounds, experience, and education levels.
    • Ability and willing to be trained as a Haz-Mat first responder and assume role of incident commander as needed.
    • Experience interacting with and training all levels of employees regarding regulatory and company EH&S requirements
    • Broad-based knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations in the region
    • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations
