    International Traffic Manager Position

     

    Located at Guardian Industries's Float Glass Manufacturing Plant in El Marques, Mexico, the International Traffic Manager will be part of Guardian's supply chain operations. This is a newly-created position reporting to the Supply Chain Manager at our El Marques, Mexico plant. Being a global operation, Guardian conducts significant trade internationally with the impor and export of our glass products in and out of Mexico. This this person will lead team within our International Traffic function in coordinating, monitoring, and measuring the scope and strategies of the International trade operation to ensure compliance with El Marques vision as well as Guardian's goals and objectives.   

    Responsibilities

    Promote and participate in the implementation, observation and compliance with measures that promote safety

    • Participate in the operation of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration System.
    • Optimize the international trade operation of the plant.
    • Coordinate and control logistics providers nationwide
    • Be the first point of contact with Guardian plants across the world.
    • Carry out negotiations with shipping companies, land transport, customs brokers, port terminals and forwarders, under the best conditions of quality and price.
    • Optimize the operation and planning of carriers to meet the goal of timely delivery
    • Evaluation and development of the portfolio of international logistics suppliers.
    • Determine and ensure compliance with the ISO 9000 objective
    • Lead the development of savings projects in the area
    • Review the annual general production scenario Mexico
    • Ensure compliance with foreign trade issues by acting as a point of contact.
    • Lead any International trade audit.
    • Make import and export reports

    • Carry out reports on costs, volume and contribution of the logistics operation

    •  Lead generation ideas for continuous improvement and cost improvements within their work area

    Management/Leadership

     

    • Develop the team aligned with the Guiding Principles to ensure its growth.
    • Verify that the activities of the area are carried out according to the authorized procedures.
    • Participate in the Recruitment and Selection process.
    • Ensure staff competence through the detection of training needs and compliance with the training program
    • Evaluate and provide feedback to staff
    • Periodic review of RR & E's
    • Participate in activities and initiatives motivating their staff to get involved in them

    Experience

     

    At least five years experience in foreign trade, costs, finances, and personnel management.

    Experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, Distribution, Advanced English, Advanced Excel, and MRP2 strongly desired
