    GUARDIAN INDUSTRIES is seeking a Marketing Director, Americas.  The successful candidate will actively engage with the sales and operations teams to drive profitable business results and develop a successful team that is line with our leadership philosophy. Reporting directly to the Vice President of the Americas, this position covers markets in both North and South America. The region entails 10 float glass manufacturing locations plus distribution centers and fabrication facilities.

    • Advance Guardian’s MBM® Culture and ensure the development of all team members.
      • Vision aligned and connected throughout the team
      • Performance cycle execution: RRE discussions, career development, Annual Performance Reviews and effective compensation discussions.
      • Develop MBM® specific skill building opportunities team, and;
      • Complete annual people review process and succession plans
    • Guardian Americas Point of View (POV) and Five Year Strategic Plan
      • Annual update of Americas POV, and continuous update of competitive databases with new info. Drive continuous improvement in gathering, analyzing and communicating market, competitive and industry intelligence
      • Develop overall implementation plan for strategy with ownership and metrics to monitor progress
      • Drive Jumbo Coater and other capital projects process based upon strategic plan
    • Determine the right product portfolio to serve the target segment strategies and drive overall product line profitability improvements across the Americas
      • Ensure product roadmaps are aligned/delivered based upon market / business strategy
      • Understand and drive improvements to product portfolio profitability
      • Ensure effective portfolio management through the entire product lifecycle
      • Develop roadmap for future façade applications, with capability and products needed
    • Facilitate the strategy, promotion, pricing, and profitable growth for Guardian flat glass and fabricated products.
    • Establish operating plan targets for regional sales leaders to address the viability of customers, territories, industry segments, to achieve overall growth targets.
    • Comprehend and resolve complex operational and customer issues, and provide clear direction, manage priorities, and make difficult decisions
    • Demonstrated aptitude of balancing (sometimes competing) business priorities in the face of demand forecasting, customer deadlines and production schedules. Skillsets and knowledge must include pricing, forecasting, contribution margin, and driving profit across multiple business segments
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including: SCM, Marketing, and Plant leadership and operations, and R&D.
    • Cultivate relationships with key influencers within our customer base (glaziers, general contractors, building owners, and fabricators), and develop strategies to win profitable business, manage through challenging situations, and negotiate skillfully.

             REQUIREMENTS :

    • Position is based in Auburn Hills MI. Significant travel – at least 50% (US and the North and South America region)


    • Degreed professional ideally Business, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Communications, or related discipline. MBA a plus. Strong analytical and financial acumen – a solid understanding of the role of sales as it relates to financial planning, and sales budgeting is essential as this role.
    • 7-10 of years of previous experience in leadership across a multinational, matrixed organization of comparable size.
    • Knowledge of glass industry very helpful; P&L leadership a bonus
    • MS Office … Excel skills including chart building and pivot tables




    The Director of Marketing Americas reports to the Vice President, America's and has 9 direct reports including Project Managers, Product Managers, Market Ressearch Analyst, Marketing Communications, Web/Graphics, and Marketing Support.
