    Custom Glass Solutions by Guardian is presently recruiting for a Purchasing Supervisor at our Upper Sandusky, Ohio facility.     Responsibilities

    • Build a strong working relationship with strategic suppliers in a way that promotes cooperation and communication in the effort to service our internal and external customers and improve inventory and operational performance
    • Manage all aspects of purchasing direct and indirect materials & services related to the support of daily operations while taking into account cost-effective solutions.
    • Ensure that all purchasing activities are managed within budget, maintaining the highest level of ethics.
    • Manage core supplier sourcing along with request for quotes pertaining to new business.
    • Enforce process and procedural compliance in terms and conditions, supplier quality, TS and ISO, etc.
    • Establish, manage, and evaluate MRO metrics.
    • Champion supplier development and risk management strategies.
    • Work strategically with other departments and personnel on current and future business maximization (Advance purchasing).
    • Effectively manage and support plant cribs.
    • Meeting with suppliers to assess their suitability of product, price and delivery capabilities.
    • Multiple location responsibility.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
    • 3-5 years of purchasing and/or supply chain experience, at progressive levels of responsibility
    • Experience in MRO and/or Automotive Component Purchasing highly preferred
    • Proven ability to supervise multiple direct reports
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Superior knowledge of business and manufacturing processes
    • Strong negotiation capability
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experienced user of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel
    • Domestic travel as required to fulfill job requirements
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, clients and the general public
