Responsibilities

 

Pricing Analyst

Guardian Glass is seeking a Pricing Analyst to be a valued partner between the sales, marketing, and finance teams. This position plays an integral role in creating a disciplined and proactive approach to improve pricing performance and help maximize value from its sales effort. The individual in this position will help strike the balance between offering competitive pricing to our customers, minimizing risk, and optimizing value creation. The role will be an 50/50 split of strategy and tactical responsibilities, detailed below:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and existing tools for to help monitor and build pricing capability. This includes:
  • Creating standardized dashboards for sales and marketing as to have intelligent, transparent, and actionable insight to make better pricing decisions
  • Offering ad-hoc reporting capabilities
  • Report on price, profitability, key drivers, and trend
  • Provide pricing guidance, alternatives, and quantitative analysis to new and existing customers, products, and contracts
  • New business opportunities
  • Quoting process for commercial projects
  • Negotiating / implementing discounts
  • Support the standardization of pricing processes, policies, and decision rights to ensure prices are managed properly and in accordance with best practices
  • Provide analysis of the competitive landscape
  • Manage quarterly surcharges and surcharge exceptions
  • Support Sales and Marketing in long-term pricing strategy for the 5-year strategic plan
  • Create basement/ceiling guidelines for pricing on all products
  • Implement a list price framework to improve the customer order process
  • Facilitate pricing and surcharge updates in the World Glass system as needed
  • Maintain contracts and database on SharePoint
  • Assist with customer dispute managementRequirements:

 Requirments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field is required.
  • 1-4+ years of experience in pricing, strategy, business consulting, analytics or equivalent
  • MS Office; strong proficiency in managing and manipulating large data sets in Excel
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and project skills. Ability to share results, deal with ambiguity, solve problems, make decisions, see trends/patterns within data sets, and identify root causes.
  • Experience developing financial analysis & scenario building using multiple large data sets and the ability to implement changes based upon this analysis
  • Ability to work effectively across functions: Sales, Finance, Marketing and Customer Service...must display mental toughness…the needs/desires of these functions can be in opposition to one another at times
  • Executive presence; this position will present proposals to senior leaders
