Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor leads Guardian Engineered Glass Products (EGP), Exchange Avenue location, in the supervision and execution of all maintenance operations to ensure safety and efficiency of employees and equipment, minimizing interruptions in operations. Develops programs to extend equipment life and reliability while ensuring a safe operation.   Supervises the maintenance staff, union and non-union, manages maintenance inventory and budget.

 

  • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management® (MBM®).
  • Provide leadership and direction to the safety of all employees and visitors to the facility.
  • Interact closely with production, operations, plant, and functional leaders to ensure customer requirements are being met.
  • Develop the maintenance team; evaluating, selecting, and training for the appropriate talent and level of talent to advance our desired culture and capabilities.
  • Guarantee the efficiency of the Maintenance processes for the site (standards implementation & improvement).
  • Maintain the CMMS system, adding and modifying tasks and work orders as needed.
  • Procure and maintain appropriate inventory levels for all spare parts and maintenance consumables.
  • Provide the necessary leadership and direction to integrate continuous improvement in all areas of Maintenance.
  • Ensure employees connect with how they drive value for the company; identify talent gaps that are obstacles to superior results and coach employees.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components like variable speed, frequency drives, UPS and automated systems including robots.
  • Work to support and troubleshoot issues with control systems including PLC’s, and interface systems to PLC’s such as HMI’s.
  • Knowledge of machinery and equipment in relation to layouts and engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and equipment such as motors, motor control centers, transformers, switchgears, control equipment, process instrumentation, HVAC systems, Utility systems and water treatment process.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude.
  • Continuously improve plant performance through process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Sales, Engineering, Warehouse, Shipping, etc.) to optimize production requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated success in measuring and improving processes to meet organization goals.

Proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
