Responsibilities

 

Guardian Glass is actively searching for a Regional Quality Manager to support our Americas region.  The successful candidate will plan, coordinate and direct quality programs and activities designed to ensure quality control and quality reliability of manufactured Flat Glass products consistent with established standards and within the MBM Framework and Guiding Principles.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the overall Quality Capability for the Americas.
  • Formulates and maintains our quality vision complementary to our corporate OPEX vison.
  • Responsible for people development/succession planning.
  • Sets and prioritize the region quality goals according to Americas business plan in coordination with the OPEX and to Global Quality initiatives.
  • Provides direction for the development of the Supplier Quality process for the region.
  • Responsible for key customer interactions.
  • Provides monthly quality performance report(KPIs-CoPQ-Other) to the regional VP of Operations and to the Global Quality Director (high level report).
  • Develop a quality training strategy for the region.
  • Share with the other Regional Managers of Quality the regions’ Best Practices.
  • Develop a Continuous Improvement strategy for the region.
  • Quarterly Plant visits & quality reviews.
  • Quarterly meetings with all regional QMs.
  • Develop RREs for the Quality Managers and Engineers.
  • Be Involved with the development of a new product or major customer.
  • Reduce Customer Claims.
  • Responsible to perform once per year the COP (Conformity of Product Audit).
  • Assists with the implementation of the Global Quality KPIs and the Cost of Product Quality. Part of his responsibility is to train the quality managers with the Global Quality KPIs and the Cost of Product Quality.
  • Monitors the performance of the Global Quality KPIs.
  • Monitors and reduces the performance of the Cost of Product Quality.
  • Keeps his direct report abreast of significant issues with the implementation of KPIs and COPQ.
  • Help the Quality Managers with the MBM Problem Solving activities.
  • Plays active role on management teams within the plant organization.
  • Ensures compliance with the MBM and Guiding Principles requirements.
  • Facilitates positive employee relations and work environment for department staff.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experiencing dealing with quality  management systems (QMS) and procedures.
  • Background in structured, team problem solving.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and other internal customers.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
