Summary: This is an opportunity to support Guardian's Science and Technology Center (STC) in bringing new innovations from prototype to full-scale production. The newly-created Manufacturing Implementation team will be responsibel for Capital Projects. These projects can range from a new development proces line in an existing plant to an entire new facility, including new development manufacturing processes.


           This position plays a key role in the successful final stage of commercializing

           Guardian's STC new innovations and playing a key role in the setting up

           process, controls, and manufacturing equipment integration for bringing new

           manufacturing facilities live and on-line. Mission critical for this position is the

           abiliy to design and develop process flow for the introduction of new

           technologies to the marketplace.

  • Oversite of Process control systems for the Manufacturing Implementation team, which is part of the Product Innovation Group This team is responsible for scale up and launching new process production lines to support/manufacture new products. In many cases these are pilot lines or fist of their kind in the industry.
  • Coordinate with product development teams to define specifications and requirements for equipment to produce new products.
  • Drive innovative process and equipment Control solutions by seeking best industry knowledge
  • Manage the integration and equipment supply base for the projects to achieve the desired outcomes and meet project and product goals.
  • Brainstorm in cross functional team’s methods and equipment to support pilot and production equipment for new products or functions.
  • Coordinate electrical and controls requirements for suppliers and third-party engineering firms to achieve designs and build equipment to create the developed products.
  • Ensure systems and controls are designed and implemented meeting the safety requirements and practices of the company and applicable codes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Electrical Engineer with 10+ years’ experience in industrial systems, equipment design and project management
  • Familiarity managing controls implementation for projects ranging $100K to $50M Capex.
  • Self-starter, independent worker, with leadership ability able to work in a team environment
  • Creative problem solver
  • Broad knowledge of electrical systems and controls with desire to remain in touch with current and future systems and components
  • General personal computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Power Point, Project, etc.
  • Strong customer focus with ability to foster relationships
  • Strong communications skills required to communicate project information in a professional manner to both technical and non-technical groups
  • Open mined with a desire to work with and contribute to an innovative team
  • Economic thinking and basic cost/benefit analysis of options
  • Familiar with engineering control standards


Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Control Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in industrial systems, equipment design and project management
  • Familiarity managing controls implementation for projects ranging $100K to $50M Capex.
