    We are currently looking for a Controller for our fabrication plant located in Galax, VA.  Guardian Galax targets for hire individuals who exhibit integrity and create value for our business and customers.



    The Controller, is a business partner working hand-in-hand with plant manufacturing, sales and procurement management in their daily decision making needs.  The Controller position is driven by the need to add value to the business.  The Controller position, although understanding the need to provide accurate and timely accounting services, places more importance on the functions that add the most value to the business and as a key part of the management team, must drive the business factors that contribute most to the success of the business.  The Controller will help lead our efforts to achieve business process redesign within the finance function and will work with plant management to achieve similar success in all other areas of our business.  The Controller strives to redesign processes to achieve the most efficient and effective results while maintaining the highest customer focus.  The Controller is committed to adding value to their business unit, and is willing to be evaluated by their contribution to the bottom line.



    Key Activities:


    Provide business support for Plant Manager, Sales, Production and Purchasing staff:

    -drive integrity of all records, systems, analysis, statements, and reports

    -financial leadership

    -strategic planning

    -performance analysis & reporting

    -new business analysis

    -cost analysis using activity based costing

    -sales and profitability reporting

    -supply chain management

    -manage accounting team - people development

    -inventory monitoring

    -S&P reporting

    -variance analysis

    -continuous improvement

    -information sharing

    -understand business market and leverage with finance and functional leadership



    Perform General Accounting:

     -comply with all regulatory, industry and corporate financial/accounting practices

    -ensure effective, accurate, and efficient accounting processes

    -payroll preparation

    -customer invoice processing

    -oversight of supplier payments

    -monthly close process and financial statement preparation



    -forecasting, tax compliance, external reporting, cash management, new business initiatives, safeguard controls.
