We are seeking a Sales Manager (Outside Sales) for the Vacuum Insulating Glass platform of Guardian’s New Ventures organization. This position will be responsible for Vacuum insulating fabrication business for several regional and /or national accounts, as well as locations throughout North America.  Ideally, the successful candidate will reside in the Auburn Hills, MI or Millbury, OH areas.  In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Sales, New Ventures, North America Glass and will have supervisory responsibility for Outside and Inside Sales associates.  This position will report to the New Ventures Sales Director, New Ventures.

 

This position will be responsible for generating value for our customers and Guardian Industries through the implementation of the insulating platform strategies.  This would include but not be limited to the following:

 

Strategic Management: In coordination with Business Development, Product Management and Operations, develop and implement a sales strategy for the platform to enhance current customer relationships, identify value creation opportunities and identify new business.

Customer Development: Grow existing business and generating new business through relationship development and value creation.

  • Promote and sell Guardian’s vacuum insulating products (VIG/GIG)
  • Customer analysis – determining customer needs through market and product requirements collection
  • Develop a point of view on the segment’s market dynamics and our customer’s supply alternatives.
  • Closure – completing the sale
  • Follow-up with customers (including quality and service challenges and regular reviews)

Career Development: agree upon a career development plan with Director of Sales for New Ventures, including self-assessment and identifying training needs

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum five years of proven sales experience in Commercial Glass Specification Markets
  • Experience in Fabrication with Insulating units (preferred)
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Business Suite applications, familiarity with CRM programs
  • Exposure to structured selling processes (SPIN, Solution Selling, etc.)
  • Detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate across multiple levels.
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers and work as a team.
  • Timely follow up on all customer concerns and projects.
  • 50-75%, includes overnight travel
