This position is at the forefront of research and development for thin film deposition coatings.  This individual will be creating prototype thin film coatings and characterizing their physical, optical, and mechanical performance with guidance from senior research staff.  This individual will have the opportunity to improve our core research capability through the procurement, installation and operation of new equipment.  This individual will be working with internal customers and scientists to carry out organizational research goals.


Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Safe operation of the ILS pilot deposition tool
  • Ensuring customer (scientists) film depositions are carried out efficiently and without error
  • Maintaining existing equipment and laboratory facilities
  • Improving departmental capability


Qualifications and Minimum Education Requirements

  • Technical or associates degree, B.S. in science or engineering related preferred

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with thin film depositions and vacuum related hardware
  • Equipment troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic)
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow complex instructions
