EHS Engineer



Guardian Glass is Guardian’s largest business and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of float, value-added and fabricated glass products and solutions. At our 25 float plants located around the globe, Guardian Glass produces high performance glass for architectural, residential, interior, transportation and technical glass applications. 

As an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer, the purpose of your role is to ensure the conditions necessary for the continuous operation of fabrication equipment; to coordinate the engineering for the projects.


Main tasks:

  • direct a proactive safety and environmental program.
  • improve the quality of safety and environmental management processes following established regulations, policies, standards, and practices.
  • ensure compliance with all safety and environmental programs.
  • educate, train, and provide support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs.
  • direct accident investigation programs, develop accident trends, and develop programs for improving performance.


  • the compliance with labor safety rules and having them complied with by both the employees of the company and outside suppliers,
  • ensuring the energy supply of the company and the operation of the units while serving the requirements of production in the maximum way,
  • preserving and continuously maintaining the technical condition of the technical equipment he is in charge of,
  • managing spare parts / (back-up) materials in his area, ensuring continuous availability and quantity optimization,
  • accomplishing project and maintenance works by deadline and rationally utilizing available resources, as well as for the quality of works,
  • increasing efficiency in his area and for optimal cost management,
  • observing professional aspects, quality requirements and the company’s values and norms,
  • conveying information come to his knowledge concerning the company and necessary for managerial decisions


  • Knowledge of potential suppliers
  • Automotive engineering skills or mechanical engineering skills Graduate of higher technical education
  • At least intermediate level in Hungarian and English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of design and technical standards
  • User level IT knowledge (MS Office, integrated IT systems)
  • Solution focused approach
  • Self-development attitude
  • ‘to-the-point’ mentality
