Responsibilities

Coater Equipment Supervisor

[Reliability Engineering Focus]

 

The position will be responsible for the following: (U.S. Citizen or Green Card)

 

 

    • Provide leadership and direction to the safety of all employees and visitors to the facility.
    • Ensure all planned maintenance activities are completed safely, cost effectively, on-time and to standard
    • Coordinate and lead the monthly preventative maintenance process (called “vents”), for our “large-area” glass coater. [Our particular Coater is a “Terra-G” Magnetron sputtering system for optical thin films].
    • Lead asset reliability program in effort to deliver best in class reliability and maintenance effectiveness
    • Support/lead troubleshooting of the coater equipment
    • Participate in Cap-X improvements in a Lean-Manufacturing, cross-functional environment.
    • Develop crew members for the improvement of individual and organization performance.
    • Lead performance management and corrective action processes for team.
    • Maintain our plant’s union-free status through the use of positive employee relations.
    • Work jointly with plant engineers and maintenance personnel to meet process performance requirements at the coater and peripheral support equipment, i.e., washer, control systems and conveyors.
    • Monitor product quality and maintain processes to improve the quality of vacuum coating processes and other techniques such as sampling plans, experimental design, process capability analysis, and process improvement plans. 

     

    The background and experience requirements for this position are as follows:

    • Bachelor Degree in technically related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience working in a fast pace 24/7 manufacturing environment.
    • Demonstrated success in measuring and improving processes to meet organization goals
    • Knowledge of accepted maintenance best practices and reliability practices
    • Demonstrated experience in leading positive employee engagement
    • Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers and work as a team
    • Knowledgeable at maintaining accurate employee documentation and files
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Experience with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)

     

    • An understanding of Thin-Film-Optical-Coatings is desired, but not required.
    • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional is desired but not required
