Responsibilities

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for all plant logistics (internal and external), both daily operations and optimization, to an evolving business. The expectation is that all customer’s (internal or external) needs and requirements are met.  This includes accountability for the warehouse layout, warehouse flow, shipping planning-execution-efficiency, production planning & scheduling, procurement, material handling, and inventory management; while optimizing the level of resources needed (inventory, capacity and costs).  He/She understands the role/impact of the plant within the Guardian global Supply Chain and is attached to a constant integration of customer focus both internally and externally.

 

RESPONSIBILTIES

Team – Management & Leadership

  • Interact closely with regional S&OP, sales, operations, customers, plant and functional leaders to ensure customer requirements are being met.
  • Manage the team in charge of internal flows’ management (including production planning & scheduling, warehouse management, procurement, material handling & shipping.).
  • Develop the supply chain team and raise the competency level.
  • Guarantee the efficiency of the Supply Chain processes for the site (standards implementation & improvement).
  • Coordinate all internal flows’ improvement actions (lead time reduction).
  • Drives (with help of IS) the implementation of the Supply Chain Information System within the plant.
  • Part of the Plant Leadership Team.
  • Participate in Corporate Supply Chain projects.
  • Provide the necessary leadership and direction to integrate continuous improvement in all areas of the Supply Chain.

  • Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management® (MBM®).
  • Identify Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.
  • Resolve customer complaints/issues (internal and external); using them as an opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve the root cause.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the plant supply chain function and process, aligning with the Guardian vision.

Capability – Develop the Plant Supply Chain capability (including S&OP, process, people capability, assets - mobile equipment, inventory, measures, vision, connection with regional capability.)

  • Define and provide feedback on WH/Shipping capability against demand plan, according to main bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the S&OP process at the plant level.
  • Ensure that the capacity and workforce are adapted to plant demand.
  • Ensure that the level and location of inventory are adapted to meet customer needs and achieve efficiency objectives.
  • Plan production orders according to plant demand plan and follow up.
  • Manage plant bottlenecks: appropriate loading & feeding.
  • Plan shipping; maintain shipping dock performance metrics, and improvement plans.
  • Anticipate risks and manages crisis.
  • Is accountable for inventory coverage and for capital optimization within the plant.
  • Deploy and follow up on Key Performance and Financial Indicators and communicate them to the teams.
  • Define and deploy an action plan to reach performance objectives.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • At least 3 to 5 years Supply Chain Management experience in a process manufacturing environment with at least 6 to 8 years being in a lead and/or supervisory position.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to be a transformational leader, specifically the ability to lead and promote change.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create partnerships, and resolve conflict between work teams.
  • Knowledgeable in Industrial sector in process manufacturing, specifically lean manufacturing.
  • Able to gain credibility with all levels of employees, and build high quality relationships across functions.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills as it relates to Supply Chain functions including MS analytical and communication tools and Data Management.
  • Strong and proven knowledge of scheduling and inventory practices and policies, asset optimization, results driven KPIs, procurement, standard work practices, warehouse optimization, working capital, traffic-shipping, process flow and prioritization, etc.
