This position will be responsible for the following:

Overseeing and managing multiple disciplines and engineering staff. This primarily includes Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, but also Maintenance, Production, and Process Engineering.

  • Instruct plant personnel in the operation and maintenance of the systems provided.
  • Prepare cost estimates and timelines for projects.
  • Determine design requirements, prepare specifications and drawings, procure necessary materials and services, and coordinate installation and maintenance systems for major capital projects and plant improvements.
  • Improve yields, lower costs, and increase manufacturing uptime by supporting existing facilities.
  • Provide plant support through preventive maintenance.
  • Work to support and troubleshoot issues with control systems including PLC programming, and interface systems to PLC’s such as MMI, SCADA and other.
  • Monitor the preparation of working drawings presented by outside contractors.
  • Ensure that health & safety procedures and environment policies are followed and company guidelines are implemented
  • Provide strong leadership in a manner that fosters participation in continuous improvement efforts, open communication and a self-directed team approach.
  • Implement operating procedures, and maintain a standard of shift performance for plant operations
  • Establish priorities and allocate resources
  • Measure and track improvement in shift performance
  • Conduct performance appraisal with shift personnel to encourage improvement and growth with each individual
  • Maintain a union-free workplace by establishing and demonstrating positive relationships with team members
  • Provide direction and leadership in the resolution of technical, production-related and quality problems to assure completion

 The background and experience requirements for this position are as follows:

 The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred discipline). A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business related field is secondary but acceptable depending upon related experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ supervisory experience working in a fast pace, high pressure, 24/7/365 manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability Engineering and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated success in measuring and improving processes to meet organization goals
  • Demonstrated experience in leading continuous improvement efforts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to support a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading positive employee relations in order to maintain a union-free environment
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments and managers and work as a team
  • Knowledgeable at maintaining accurate employee documentation and files
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
