Shift Warehouse Supervisor



Guardian Glass is Guardian’s largest business and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of float, value-added and fabricated glass products and solutions. At our 25 float plants located around the globe, Guardian Glass produces high performance glass for architectural, residential, interior, transportation and technical glass applications. 



Reporting to the Warehouse Manager you will lead a team of 11 people and be responsible for their ongoing development. You will have full responsibility of all aspects and actions in the warehouse and your team. You will be capable of managing a high volume, rapidly changing warehouse with one eye on the bigger picture whilst driving forward our company culture that has health and safety at its core.

  • You will be responsible for driving a culture of Health & Safety excellence within your team, ensuring that they are influenced by your own approach to Health & Safety to think proactively in their own role
  • You will be effective in communicating within your own shift team and across the other shifts in relation to the Warehouse and wider plant activities
  • You will be responsible for training and developing your team so that they can assist the Warehouse in delivering the Guardian “Best in Service” experience to our customers
  • You will be responsible for directing your team on the day to day requirements of the Warehouse and will also have the ability to provide responsive and flexible solutions in this fast paced environment




The ideal candidate will:

Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial experience in a Supervisory position. You must hold a GCSE grade C or above or equivalent qualification in Math & English.

Have substantial experience of leading teams in a demanding fast paced production and warehouse environment.

Be a results driven individual who can work well alone and as part of a wider team who is always aiming to deliver what you set out to achieve but unafraid to make mistakes and learn from them.

Will have proven people management skills combined with energy, enthusiasm, initiative and a can do mentality.

You will have excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with a diverse range of people

Experience of working shifts would be beneficial to an individual
